Ned Stark, a man of honor and morality thrown into a world which praises of immorality.. he was doomed from the start, but we only respect him all the more for standing against it.
A study using one of the well-known Game of Thrones images as reference, this took about seven hours. I used the chalk brush and round soft brush, as well as a texture of concrete. Process here: [link]

Pure epicness here. Game of Thrones is incredibly awesome, with Ned Stark being our favorite.
You did an awesome job with this, particularly with the lighting. The way the shadows are cast on his face speak eloquently of the his expression despite the detail hidden by it. It also does a fantastic job of showing depth to him, and alluding to the incredible weight he bears.
The impressionistic strokes are something to be proud of as well. They do a great job of describing detail without actually placing it all, something I'm rather jealous of. I also want to mention the material; the texture of the leather and the the stuffed inner lining are very clear. Great work, man!
