The light filtered down through the trees, fighting back the darkness in a battle only witnessed by the lone warrior in the purple canopy. He watched the petals of the Assyr trees blow along like flakes of gold, or perhaps spirits searching for a lost homeland. He remained motionless, letting the peace of the scene flood his mind, helping him forget the terror of days past, the horror of his insanity.. all that death, all that suffering. Atonement was a word he dreamed of, an impossible goal he yearned to reach.. he wanted forgiveness for the despair and pain he had sown.
A 70 minute speedpaint, painted on livestream. See the video here: [link] or here for Youtube: [link] Facebook: [link]
I love how it is very sketchy, but still is detailed enough for the piece to have a great atmosphere! I think it would look a bit better if the tree in front had a few more details though. But I realize this is a speed paint hehe And I love that little guy in the tree^^
Thanks for the comment. Yeah, that's where reference images would be a bonus: now I see that real jungles have so many leaves and small bushes which I could add. Next livestream I'll use a few ref pics.
I almost expect the headless horsemen to come out!!
Drawing landscapes / nature is not one of my strong points...so this work of yours is a great example and inspiration!
