Garage 2 Process

Description

Here's the process for the second garage piece I did, just for those who wonder how I get such awesome results... *cough* I mean, just for those who want to see how I did it. :P

1 - I began with a relatively tight sketch, could even be called a speed paint. Basic perspective and composition was very definite. It looked good, it had the messy, cluttered look I wanted in the final.

2 - Inserting photos, I manipulated them to fi the perspective, and began painting on top. A little tedious at this point, but necessary. The basic furniture was then added.

3 - More furniture and rubbish. I shaded with a new layer on "Multiply", and began building contrast. The ground and wood looked too separate, so I wanted to fix that. Also, I flip the canvas horizontally every ten minutes or so, as this keeps it looking good.

4 - Added lots more stuff, really wanting the messy look. The door was added, and more shading was added, especially to the ground and walls.

5 - Here all the shading and detail came in, including the wires and lights, the oil/water on the floor, and minor extra stuff on the shelves. Then basic contrast adjustment, and it's done.

You're really great at that! Impressive, indeed.
